December 2012 Activity Report


The following were the activities for Light for Children for the month of December, 2012.

Firstly, the month saw the arrival of four (4) Swedish volunteers on the 3rd of December, 2012. Two were sent to the Mampong Babies Home to do their internship and they are Ellinor Andersson and Saga Nehlin.The other two who went to the Missionaries of Charity are Stina Luokkala and Martina Testi.

Secondly, Lifoc`s monthly and end of year socialization came off at the Cultural Centre on Saturday,15th December,2012 where a lot of activities took place which include:

  • Some of the kids were given shoes for Christmas

  • Rebecca Kuntz gave out gifts in the form of necklace and sweets to the children

  • Justin Afari and Esther were given their scholarship package for the next academic year (2013).

  • All the children, caregivers, staff and volunteers of Lifoc had lunch together and danced happily to make the day an enjoyable one.

Lifoc also took part in the World Aids Day which came off on the 4th of December, 2012 at the Premeh Assembly Hall. It was attended the Director of Lifoc, Mr. Yaw Otchere Baffour.

Finally, on the 13th of December, there was an orientation meeting organized for the Out of School Teens (OST) and Adult Literacy Facilitators at Abuakwa OAU Hotel for the ECHOES III Project.
